Most other stretching machine devices have a long L-shaped leg rest that extends down below the knee.  Generally, the result is applied pressure somewhere below the knee, thereby causing lateral knee joint pressure and potential injury.   In addition, the construction quality of most other machines is poor; having cables, pulleys and cranks, along with a cheap vinyl covering that is unattractive and won't last.
